Munnar, it's a very beautiful place. It has no dearth of fun activity. How I know that munnar is a very beautiful place? Because I have been to munnar myself. There is a lot to tell about munnar. Munnar is a town located in the kannan devan hills village, devikulam taluk. And devikulam taluk is largest panchayat in idukki district. Munnar is located in the state Kerala, india. It falls under the district of Idukki. It is in the mountain ranges of western ghats. Munnar is also known as kashmir of south india.


Talking about the climate in munnar, it has a very much different stories to tell us. Munnar has a pleasant climate. In the summer time it is not so hot, in the monsoons it rains in a moderate way. and in the winter time it has a very cool. I just love the climate here.

Munnar is the most visited tourist destination in Kerala. Sounds interesting!!!The beautiful valleys mountains, different types of flora and fauna makes this place a very attractive destination. Here the largest amount tea is grown and produced. It is a also a hill station. Munnar is home to some of the endangered species like neelakurinji, nilgiri tahi. Three rivers flow through the munnar region. they are the Mattupeti, Nallathani and Periavaru.


WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU COME TO MUNNAR:


1. The tea plantations:

Climate in this region makes it  ideal for growing tea. It is not possible to enter these plantations, as it is owned privately. but there is a place you can visit. It is the tea factory museum. 


2. Echo point:

Munnar is one of the best places for adventure lovers.  The echo point is located 15 km from munnar. Here the voice resonance occurs naturally. You can also got to top station which is the highest point in munnar. Here you get an amazing view of towns and hills. Wow!!!!


3. Eravikulam national park: 

When in munnar you should definitely explore the biosphere reserves, sanctuaries and national parks of munnar. This national park is located in the kannan devan hills of munnar. Here you can spot rare species. This national park is famous for the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. 


4. Thekkady bird sanctuary:

This wildlife sanctuary is located 72 to 73 km from munnar. It is a home to a lot of migratory birds like serpent eagle, peninsular bay owl, fairy bluebird etc. Indian hornbill, malabar grey hornbill can also be spotted here.


5. Chinnar wildlife sanctuary:

Chinnar wildlife sanctuary is situated 60 km from munnar. Elephants, leopards and deer can be seen here. And also the the grizzled giant squirrel which at the verge of extinction.


6. Biking:

Places in munnar like suryanelli and kundala are best for those who love mountain biking. Biking is a popular adventure activity in munnar. Riding along the wavy, bendy roads is so much exciting. i just love biking so much.


7. Munnar markets:

Love shopping? Your at the right place. Here you can purchase tea and coffee of different types, natural and aromatic oils. Here one can buy best quality tea of tata tea museum. This is also a popular tourist attraction.


8. Blossom international park:

This park is located 3 km from the main city. This park is home to rare species of trees and flowers. Here you can even do activities like boating, cycling etc.


9. Anamudi peak:

Anamudi peak is very stunning. This peak is located 8.7 km from munnar. Explore and admire its beauty walking around on your feet. When climbing up the hill, breath in fresh air with flora and fauna surrounding you.


10. Thoovanam falls:

Oh my god!!!! This is the one of the best places with blue water of pambar river for nature lovers. This waterfall is located in Chinnar wildlife sanctuary, idukki district. It is the best place to go for a walk with lush green trees all around. And one can also go trekking here.
