MY JOURNEY TO TAMIL NADU

Tamil Nadu is a south Indian state. It's situated along the shoreline of  Bay of Bengal. The capital is Chennai. Chennai is also the largest city in Tamil Nadu along the coromandel coast. Tamil Nadu is a welcoming destination for visitors from all corners of the world. Chennai has some amazing museums, galleries, temples and parks to explore and also beautiful beaches. Tamil Nadu is full of temple towns. The most popular is Kanchipuram, i.e. the city of thousand temples.

I travelled to Tamil Nadu by road, and it was an amazing experience. I would like to share my experience about the places I visited in Tamil Nadu.

1. OOTY:

Ooty is a town in the Nilgiri district of Tamil Nadu. It's a very beautiful place. I really liked it as we are surrounded by lush green trees all around. As i am a nature lover, this is no less than a paradise for me. Best time to visit Ooty is in the summer month. It's very misty in the winter and monsoon season and its very hard to see the roads and its not safe to drive this time. Coldest month in Ooty is July. Ooty is famous for waterfall, botanical gardens, lakes, markets and tea factories.

PLACES TO SAW IN OOTY:

a. OOTY LAKE:

Ooty lake is a place you must visit. This lake is popular for boating. I also went for boating and it was a good experience. Tourist can enjoy a refreshing ride on its water. Cycling along the lake is also a good experience.

b. NEEDLE ROCK VIEW POINT:

It is located 8 km from Gudalur . From here you can have a 360 view of the valleys and areas surrounding it. It's is also a popular spot for trekking. The view point got this name as it resembles a needle. The view from here is so good that it is sure to amaze you.

2. SRIRANGAM TEMPLE:

This temple is considered to be the largest functioning Hindu temple in the world. This temple complex is composed of 7 concentric walled sections and 21 towers gopuram. This is a Hindu temple dedicated to Ranganatha. The art on the temple walls is what amazed me. And its so majestic.

3. MEENAKSHI TEMPLE:

Meenakshi temple is located on the bank of vaiga river in the temple city of Madurai, Tamil Nadu. This is a historic temple. This temple was built during the Nayak rule. This temple is dedicated to goddess Meenakshi, consort lord Shiva. Again i was mesmerized when i saw the art works on the temple. I got lost in deep thoughts, on how this beautiful carvings are done and the amount of work that goes into creating this beautiful temple.

4. KANYAKUMARI:

This is the southern most point of the Indian subcontinent where the Indian ocean, Arabian sea and gulf of mannar intersects and thus gets a name, the land of three seas. Kanyakumari is the smallest district in Tamil Nadu.

WHAT I SAW IN KANYAKUMARI:

a. TRICHY CHURCH:

The Our Lady Of Lourdes Church is located in the city of Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. This church is dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes. This church was constructed in 1890 AD. The feast of Our Lady of Lourdes is held annually on 11 February.

b. VIVEKANADA ROCK MEMORIAL:

The Vivekananda rock memorial can be seen on a small island off coast Kanyakumari. To reach here there are ferry services. The ferry ride is very thrilling especially for adventure lovers. This is a peaceful destination to visit. This statue was built in 1970. The island on which the statue is built, is said to be the place where Vivekananda attained enlightenment.

Travel to a whole new and amazing destinations you've never heard of before.

As i always like to say:

Take out some time, come up for air, restart your life and be on cloud nine forever.
